On Wednesday, March 22, we analyzed Ted Lasso. A shoe placement was spotted in the second episode of the third season: Air Huarache ‘Red Oxide’ sneakers of Jason Sudeikis in Ted Lasso S03E02 “(I Don’t Want to Go to) Chelsea” (2023).

The second episode of Ted Lasso opens with our friend Trent Crimm (No longer with the Independent) in Rebecca’s office. Ted bursts in with his usual vigor to “greet the boss” and catches both Keeley and Rebecca chatting before noticing Trent. Rebecca has a proposal for Ted in leveraging Trent’s skill and is urged by Keeley and Rebecca to entertain their ideas. This is the first shoe in the episode and was a rather tough one to spot, but we got it!

The Shoe: Nike Air Huarache ‘Red Oxide’

Ted Lasso starts off the scene sporting the Nike Air Huarache in ‘Red Oxide’. Many fans of Lasso’s Nikes often complain about how expensive his taste is, often due to them being out of production. However, here is a pair that still is found in production often in many different colorways and is finally a significantly more affordable pair. We saw the Premium ‘Varsity Jacket’ in Red version, much more expensive, in ‘Make Rebecca Great Again‘ in season one.

The Nike Air Huarache in ‘Red Oxide’ is a sneaker that has stood the test of time. Originally released in 1991, it quickly became a cult classic thanks to its unique design and exceptional comfort. And even today, more than three decades later, the Huarache remains a popular choice for sneaker enthusiasts and casual wearers alike.

The Nike Air Huarache was first introduced in 1991 by legendary sneaker designer Tinker Hatfield. Hatfield had previously designed some of Nike’s most iconic sneakers, including the Air Jordan III, Air Max 1, and Air Trainer 1, and the Huarache was no exception.

The Huarache was inspired by a number of sources, including neoprene diving boots, Native American sandals, and the human body itself. The sneaker’s most distinctive feature is its neoprene bootie construction, which fits snugly around the foot and provides a sock-like feel. The Huarache also features a unique exoskeleton design, which provides support and structure without adding unnecessary weight.

The Nike Air Huarache has several key features that set it apart from other sneakers on the market. From the Neoprene bootie construction, the exoskeleton design, air cushioning and a Variety of colorways in production to date make the Nike Air Huarache a unique and enduringly popular sneaker.
