The Shoe: Nike Air Huarache Premium ‘Varsity Jacket’ in Red
This is the second time we see Ted Lasso wearing the Red Nike Air Huarache, previously seen in the episode “Tan Lines.” Alluding to the future with the past in mind, Nike returns with the Huarache Run Premium in vibrant hues of red and purple. Setting the sneaker world ablaze since ‘91, this runner sustains modern momentum with its purpose-built construction and millennial colourways. Moulding to the shape of your foot with every stride, grape accents deliver Huarache branding to both the heel and tongue, while the TPU caging system and encapsulated Nike Air cushioning ensure this pair are as comfortable as they are statement-seeking.
From revolutionary running sneaker to casual lifestyle shoe, through its many interpretations the Nike Air Huarache’s legacy lives on. As part of school-themed ‘Varsity Jacket’ collection, this shoe was released. The lightweight synthetic textile feature plush chenille overlays with a University Red exterior. Huarache’s signature neoprene inner bootie and supportive heel clip are key features.

The Episode: Make Rebecca Great Again
The Team heads to Liverpool for an away game against the Everton team. The weekend out of town happens to coincide with Rebecca’s first anniversary as a divorcee. She hopes to enjoy a fun girls’ weekend to get her mind off things.
Ted receives his divorce papers while he struggles to accept the end of his marriage.
AFC Richmond surprisingly wins. Ted joins the team in their celebration at a karaoke bar. While there, Rebecca sings a rendition of “Let It Go” from Frozen, leading Ted to a panic attack.
Outside of the club, he slips to the floor, cradling his head in his hands. We see Ted wearing the Red Nikes. Rebecca is the one who shows up to calm him down. She helps him through some breathing exercises. Ultimately, Ted thanks her and walks back to the hotel. Ted takes a shower, cleans himself up, and finally signs the papers.
Rebecca’s old friend Sassy visits her in Liverpool for the weekend to take her mind off things regarding Rupert. She, Keeley, and Rebecca have a great time hanging out, laughing, and going to dinner where Rebecca flirts with a handsome waiter. Sassy tries to inspire Rebecca to sleep with him.
Rebecca returns to the restaurant. While sitting at the bar, she receives a text message from Ted, thanking her for being so kind to him during his wild journey to the U.K.
Sassy shows up at Ted’s hotel room and walks inside.
