On Wednesday, March 22, we analyzed Ted Lasso. A shoe placement was spotted in the second episode of the third season: Nike Air Jordan 1 Low SE ‘Spades’ sneakers of Jason Sudeikis in Ted Lasso S03E01 “(I Don’t Want to Go to) Chelsea” (2023). 
The second episode of Ted Lasso bring AFC Richmond to its toughest face off to date. The team is off to London to play the well known and often reveried Chelsea where their star, Jamie Tartt was moved to last season. We dive back into the love stories that rounded out the end of season two of Rebecca and Sam along with Keeley and Roy Kent. We also bring in one of our favorite reporters, Trent Crimm (No longer with the Independent).
The Shoe: Nike Air Jordan 1 Low SE ‘Spades’
In our first game action this season AFC Richmond squares off with Chelsea we catch Ted Lasso wearing a unique and appropriate pair of Jordans, the Air Jordan 1 Low SE ‘Spades’. A fresh take on the classic Air Jordan 1 silhouette, with a unique design that pays homage to the game of cards.
The Air Jordan 1 Low SE ‘Spades’ features a black leather upper with iridescent accents, which adds a touch of flash to the shoe. The Swoosh is made of reflective material, which catches the light and adds a pop of color to the design. The shoe’s collar and tongue are also made of black leather, with perforations on the sides for added breathability.
One of the most unique features of the Air Jordan 1 Low SE ‘Spades’ is the spade-shaped Jumpman logo on the tongue. This logo is a nod to the game of spades, which is a popular card game. Other features set it apart from other Air Jordan 1 releases. The insole of the shoe features a graphic of a spade, and the heel of the shoe has a special tag with the words “Black Spades.”
Reminiscent of the back of playing cards, an embossed paisley print is applied to the crimson-colored quarter panel and toe wrap. Contrasting white leather is utilized on the toe box, eyestay, collar and heel, the latter accented with an embroidered Wings logo. A shiny gold metallic Swoosh is matched by an embroidered ‘K’ and ‘Q’ on the lateral forefoot of the left and right shoe. A spade icon on the woven tongue tag completes the playing-card homage.
