The Show, Nike Tanjun
In the inaugural episode of Ted Lasso we see Nick Mohammed as Nathan sporting the Nike Tanjun in Midnight Navy/Game Royal/White. This is a pretty classic jogger that we’d expect anyone to be wearing. As we move through the series we will see Nick Mohammed’s style and tastes become more sophisticated.
The Nike Tanjun Shoe is simplicity at its best. The name “Tanjun” means “simplicity” in Japanese rightfully naming this shoe. Tanjun has a modern look and design coming across as a typical Nike and putting comfort first. Moreover, the shoes has a mesh and synthetic upper that is flexible and breathable providing a clean look and fit. The Injected unitsole provides ultra lightweight cushioning. At last, the midsole is durable enough to serve as an outsole.
The Show, and the character Nathan Shelley
Introduced to us early, Nathan Shelley is a shy towel boy for Richmond AFC. One of the timid Nathan’s first interaction with Ted demonstrates exactly this:
Ted Lasso: Oh! Look at this guy, one step ahead. Hey, what’s your name, by the way?
Nathan Shelley: Me?
Ted Lasso: Yeah.
Nathan Shelley: No one ever asks my name.
Ted Lasso: I mean, whenever you’re ready.
Nathan Shelley: Oh! It’s Nathan.
The relationship between Ted, Coach Beard, the team and Nathan quickly starts to evolve in the first episode. After his first introduction, we see Nathan go from a scared nobody, to a slightly more confident contributor to the team. Ted begins to build up Nathan’s confidence and acknowledges him often. We will be interested to see how this relationship progresses throughout the coming seasons of Ted Lasso.
