The Shoe: Daybreak ‘Light Armory Blue’

We see Ted Lasso wearing these sneakers in the previous episode “Lavender”

This Nike sneaker is a rejuvenation of the 1979 model. It brings the old school and retro vibes back to the forefront.

This time, arriving with a dual-toned constructed from two different shades of blue with white accents, this model has understated style. The Obsidian leather swoosh accompanies an upper built of nylon with suede accents. Light Armory Blue dips the nylon portions of the shoe, while the suede aspects echo the swoosh’s Obsidian. A White mesh liner combines with flat White laces and a Sail midsole to provide a touch of luxury. Nike branding features in Obsidian capitals along the White heel tab & a classic Black waffled outsole, which has seen a rebirth in recent years, rounds off this model.

The Episode: Do the Right-est Thing

Jamie Tartt rejoins AFC Richmond. The return goes as poorly as we’d expected it to. However, the show eventually turns his return into a surprisingly emotional moment about what it means to be a team, and standing up for what you think is right.

The Richmond players are not exactly happy to see Jamie again. In general, he was varying degrees of horrible to everyone the last time he sat in their locker room. And, though he struggles to figure out how to fit himself back into a team that doesn’t seem to need him so badly anymore by the end of the episode, he seems fully committed to making the effort to try.

Richmond sponsor Dubai Air asks Sam Obisanya to take part in a photoshoot. Initially, the opportunity is thrilling to Sam. That is, until his father texts him that Dubai Air is a subsidiary of an oil company destroying regions of southern Nigeria. Horrified, Sam asks to be removed from the campaign. Then, at the team’s next match, Sam tapes over the Dubai Air logo on his jersey with gaffer tape in protest.

Elsewhere, Rebecca is trying to reconnect with her goddaughter Nora. Nora idolizes Rebecca. To Nora, Rebecca is amazing. She’s powerful, accomplished, and smart. And not just because she’s the female owner of a football club, as groundbreaking as it is. It’s because she’s herself.

“Led Tasso” makes an appearance in the hopes of motivating the Richmond players to get their act together. Ted’s mean alter ego. In the end, we all learned some lessons. We should all do the “right-est thing”
