On Saturday, August 15, we analyzed a TV Show, Ted Lasso. A shoe placement was spotted: Nike Air Zoom Pegasus Lite Total Orange 92 Sneakers of Jason Sudeikis in Ted Lasso S01E01 “Pilot” (2020). 
The Shoe, Nike Air Pegasus 92 Lite
In the inaugural episode of Ted Lasso we see Jason Sudeikis sporting the Nike Air Pegasus 92 Lite. This is our first evidence that Ted Lasso will be a sneakerheads dream. As we move through the series we will see some of Jason Sudeikis’ personal favorite Nikes in Ted Lasso.
This episodes kicks off with a remastered return of the Pegasus 92. The design lines and an upper pattern that stay true to the original. There are a few tweaks to the upper and midsole. The upper utilises the modern mesh and leather. Primary colors are grey and white, with hints of orange in the rear quarter bringing stark contrast. The sculpted lines in this iteration pay homage to the original’s dual-density appearance in the midsole.
The Show, Ted Lasso
Ted Lasso Season 1, Episode 1 introduces Jason Sudeikis’ character, Ted. This may give you fleeting flashbacks of NBC promotional videos for the English Premier League.
The pilot jumps right in with AFC Richmond’s club owner Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) bringing change to the club. Rebecca’s scandalous divorce and marriage drives this change to the club. She plans to get revenge on her billionaire ex-husband who was constantly cheating by hiring Ted. Ted has never been to England, and has no knowledge of European football. He has coached collegiate football back in The States.
Rebecca’s main intention is to destroy AFC Richmond. By having an American football team coach takeover and incinerate the team. Between the players, the press and Rebecca, no one has faith in Ted Lasso. Ted is the quintessential Southern gentleman. He does not let other people carry his bags. Ted takes the time to get to know the little guy. Further, he maintains a constant state of optimism. We find ourselves immediately rooting for Ted even when everyone else thinks he’s a “w*nker”.
Is it a story we’ve seen before? Sure. The show Ted Lasso offers something special and touching. Sudeikis anchors the show with a phenomenal performance in the role.
More Characters
The first episode introduces Coach Beard (Brendan Hunt) as Ted’s right-hand man. The two appear very in-tune with one another. Furter, to sabotage AFC Richmond, Higgins(Jeremy Swift) is introduced as Rebecca’s accomplice.
Keeley Jones (Juno Temple) is in a relationship with one of the team players, Jamie Tart (Phil Dunster). Tart a lauded pretty boy known to take his shirt off every time he scores a goal.
At last, we meet Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein). The leader of the team, Kent, is introduced as a grunting hardass.
Finally, we also learn that Ted has a family of his own back home, including a son and a wife named Michelle. We learn Ted and his wife appear to be estranged as he gets settled into his new flat. There does seem to be some chemistry between Ted and Keeley, it will be curious if the show explores a potential relationship between the two later in the season.
